ISATAP subnets An ISATAP subnet is a portion of an IPv4-only network on which ISATAP will be used for IPv6-over-IPv4 tunneling. ISATAP hosts An ISATAP host has an ISATAP tunneling interface, which it can use communicate with other ISATAP hosts on the same ISATAP subnet. I accidentally deleted my network adapter, Microsoft ISATAP #4, so I can't get on the internet. I need to find somewhere I can download them onto a USB stick on this computer and reload them onto the one missing them. I did what you said and I found the hidden devices under Network Adapters. The following includes all the ones that use the same driver: isatap.{A1C6E844-527D-448B-B006-4C7B41FB5791} isatap.{B3614D7E-A24D-4C44-8DCC-9F9015E3A28B} isatap.maine.rr.com. Microsoft ISATAP Adapter #3 . The last one being the one that comes up not able to load driver.

ISATAP is a technique that lets a server (or router) function as a gateway between IPv6 and IPv4 networks with use of NAT64 and DNS64. Your IPv4 clients builds a ISATAP tunnel interface to the ISATAP routers IPV4 address. When you try to connect to a IPv6 client; your computer will get a IPv6 address back from the DNS server. ---- If the ISATAP name is resolved successfully, then ISATAP is configured with a link-local address and an address for each prefix received from the ISATAP router through stateless address auto-configuration.---- If the ISATAP name is not resolved successfully, then the ISATAP interface is configured with a link-local address.-- Disabled. My understanding is that you will need either ISATAP or IPv6 internally for a PC on the LAN to talk directly to a DirectAccess Client. The DirectAccess server itself would be the only system that would be able to talk to the DirectAccess clients without one of those. Apr 06, 2020 · Reinstall the Microsoft ISATAP network adapter if the Code 31 error is related to the MS ISATAP adapter not working properly. Open Device Manager and access the Action > Add legacy hardware screen. Start the wizard and select Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced). Device Manager in "show hidden devices" mode will, under "Network Adapters," show one or more ISATAP adapter drivers unless you've disabled v6 and tunnel protocols altogether, and you can disable that driver if you like. The netsh command to disable ISATAP is. netsh interface ipv6 isatap set state state=disabled
